I think it’s ‘In Memorian’…I don’t know what Jonne has thought while writing this song…he has never told me …but you know,I’ve my own thoughts about that…I think I know what he wants to say with this song.Because of that I like the song although I don’t know everything….Ähm..yeah…but it’s not the only song I like…I also like ‘One last shot’ and ‘Misty morning’ cause the song fits to me very well (looks at me and laughs) I like this kind of songs…you know…life is like a roller coaster

 

‘Sinners night/misty morning’ is going to be your next single in Finland.Are you going to release it also in Germany???

No…well,I don’t really know…but honestly (makes a break)…we’ve got this German Label…Roadrunner…they don’t want to release it (says it with an ironical tone)…It’s a too “heavy”  rocksong…Fuck you Roadrunner!!! (laughs) I don’t have anything against Roadrunner…but it’s because of the Radio Stations…and I hate Radio cause they want that your songs are something for the Ladies…This are the problems we have with the Radio Stations…but that isn’t new for us cause we are Negative (grins)

 

Why do you play guitar although you could play so many other instruments???

It hurts...all the sound comes through your mouth and you move your mouth.

 

Does it vibrate???

No,it’s more like a loudspeaker. You record in your mouth and make some weird moves with it. And you feel it…and you bite on the hose,you know…and I play it a bit too loud (laughs) and when the sound comes into your mouth…yeah…then it’s a kind of vibration

How did you get the idea to use the box???

I’ve seen it nowhere…nowadays nobody seems to use it…I don’t now…I like it

How often do you go to concerts from other bands???

Often. I would like to go to more concerts…but frequently that’s not possible because we are on tour or we’ve got other dates…and on festivals you don’t notice many bands because you constantly have to do other things.

 

On which concert you were recently???

Guns ‘n’ Roses in Helsinki…and it was fucking great…Axl rocked on stage and his voice was fantastic…he sounded more ripely…well,it wasn’t the same like the old band…Slash etc…you know…but it was really great

 

When,where and how have you met Jack from Private Line???

(thinks,ripples his forehead,grins and shakes his head) mhh…I can’t remember…

 

On a party or somewhere like that???

Yeah,I think it was something like that…Party…(thinks further with rippled forehead) No…It was (laughs) I don’t know…I think it was at the Rock-Cock Festival in Kuopio…the Festival was violently…we played our Set and began to drink,you know…and at the next day we went there and drunk still more (laughs) and we’ve done so weird things…so they eliminated us,you know…although we had Backstage-Passports…I think that was the (pronounced it wrong,laughs and repeats it 3 times) first time we’ve met

 

Your pink guitar was taken on stage at the Amphi Festival and the girls began to scream…what do you think about it???

What do you wear when you are sleeping???

Nothing…

(laughs) that’s the reason why I have to pay so much for the heating…Because of that I want to spent my free time at a mhhh…warm place. Finland is cold and there’s much snow,you know…(puts his arms around himself and makes a funny tremble sound) (laughter) My blood is so thin and so I shiver constantly…

Do you consider yourself to be a romantic person?

Jussi: Yes!

And of course I have to ask this cuz I know all the girls want to know!!! Do you have a girlfriend?

Jussi: That’s a question I am really bored to answer. I used to give facts to the magazines, I mean especially in Finland it’s crazy. Because if I go to some place with someone that magazines write about it then….anyway, I remember I had this one relationship and I told about it to the magazine which is something that I don’t usually do…anyway the magazine came out and they told about it but they named this wrong person in it…it was pretty fucked up, messy and I am bored to answer that anyway.

What was your favorite childhood toy?

Jussi: Ahhhh. Childhood toy. (laughs) Ummm. I got drumsticks from my step dad so maybe that. Broke them like right the same day and put some duct tape over them, but I loved them.

How / when / why did you started smoking?

Jussi: Ohhhh that’s just so stupid to smoke but um I guess I was I dunno. 15 I guess. I dunno, I dunno. Everybody else smoked so that’s how it happens. In that age everybody smokes at school so it kind of happens. Which is stupid of course. I have tried to quit many times but here I am.

This is a bad question…how often are you drunk?

We laugh….

Jussi: Again pretty embarrassing fact that everyday…especially on this tour…

What was your very first impression of Jyrki?

Jussi: Ahhhh….Ummmm...

You met in a club or something right?

Jussi: We met in a club. He said that they needed a drummer cause they had this drummer for this short while and he really wasn’t into playing in the band anyvay. He said they need a drummer and I gave him a sip of my bottle of Jack and he took a sip and then ran to the toilet and puked.

We all laugh…

Jussi: So that was pretty much the first time I met him. The first time I talked with him. That’s what happened.

Oh shit, that’s great…

Jussi: But anyvay, we realized that in the very first place that we…all the things that we are into is pretty much the same. From the music to whatever. Rock culture….pop culture, all that shit. So…we’re like, we’re so different in so many ways we are like day and night in so many ways but at the same time we are so much the same. He’s so organized and all that like the way he packs his stuff….you can see my shit (looks around messy room) and all that and so in that sense I am totally different and he hates that in me that I am such a mess. And it’s like wherever we tour somewhere no matter what country he buys the book about the history of the country and reads the whole shit before we even visit that and I’m like… I remember I heard this cool story about Vienna so we were touring Europe so I told bus driver please tell me when we are near Vienna ‘cause I need to check this one place where this thing happened and he told me that we were in Vienna yesterday. So that’s like, I don’t even know where we are on tour but…why I am telling this I don’t know.

Jussi: I don’t know, but anyway…

Jussi: We love each other but…I mean every one of us…

You compliment each other…

Jussi: Every one of us in this band we are kind of so different but then there’s these things which we share. Like we are into…we share the same passion and we love what we do. 

Do you like to sleep long or as little as possible?

Jussi: I like to sleep whenever there is an opportunity to sleep. When on tour there is not many of those opportunities. But you know what I would love if you wouldn’t have to sleep…it’s such a waste of time but you end up being in pretty bad shape if you don’t sleep ever.

How about when you go home after the tour do you crash?

Jussi: (laughs) Yea, I think I am going to crash for like 6 days straight…

6 days…ok… (we laugh)

Jussi: Yea.

Is there a particular artist you admire with the utmost respect? Who and why?

Jussi: There are so many. There are so many. Let’s say Andy McCoy from Hanoi. He is the coolest rock and roll guitar player ever and Andy McCoy if somebody doesn’t know who he is. He is the former guitar player from Hanoi Rocks which is the band I mean when I was 10-11 years old all my walls were covered with posters and the posters were nothing but Hanoi Rocks. I was the biggest fan ever. So I admire him.

What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

Jussi: Ahhh….It has to be chocolate or vanilla

What did you buy when I saw you in Walgreens?

Jussi: What I bought? From where?

Walgreens. Some fans saw you there. I don’t even know what city you were in or if you remember. East coast though.

Jussi: Is Walgreens pretty much the same store as Walmart?

Yes.

Jussi: Ummmm I guess whenever I visited those stores it was like tooth paste and pain killers or something like that.

Does it ever freak you out, we kinda talked about this, when people rush at you wanting pictures or autographs?

Jussi: Yea…(laughs) But don’t get me wrong. I wanna make this clear that I love to talk with fans and I would love to like do whatever they want to do like pictures, signing stuff and I love to talk with them but when there are too many of them then it’s like impossible and then I don’t want to be there and appear being that I am rude or arrogant. That is why I try to avoid situations when there is like 300 kids. Cause you really can’t talk with everybody in that situation. It freaks me out in a good way…it surprises me a lot.

Does it bother you that women are so in love with your tummy? Or does it not even phase you anymore?

We all laugh…

Jussi: It’s funny. (giggles)

What do you do when you have a bad night playing to blow off some steam? Not that I have ever seen you have a bad night. But if you feel you haven’t done your best?

Jussi: I kick some walls and um take like 15 minutes to calm down and have a beer.

I know the answer to this (looking around the tour bus) What's it like traveling around with a bunch of guys on a tour bus for a month? Just how messy does it get in there?

Jussi: We have a full service they actually clean the bus a lot.

How about the best rumor about you?

Jussi: Loads… 

What is the best one you’ve ever heard?

Jussi: That I am Ville Valo’s boyfriend.

Ok, yea that’s a good one.

How did you come up with your hair style?

Jussi: By accident.

Jussi: Yea. I dunno. I think it is kind of mixed between I don’t know. Ahhh, some punk rock and Nikki Sixx and Keith Richards mixed all together.

Do you ever look at some of the websites devoted to your or the band?

Jussi: Ummm. I don’t really find time for the internet in general. Sure I’ve been checking them out a lot, but it’s not my every day thing. As you know. Like even my closest friends that mail me it takes two weeks for me to mail back.

Were there any pranks on this tour? Do you do that sort of thing?

Jussi: Ummm. It’s pretty rare. Not really. Well we left with the bus and left Ville behind.

Who did you leave?

Jussi: Ville.

Aw that isn’t nice.

Jussi: Yea. He panicked.

Metal Heart: Can you remember your first time?
Jonne Aaron: The first time i slept with a girl i was 13 years old.
But i don't really have nice memories of that, since we both didn't
know anything about sex. Older guys made me do it, even though
i didn't really want to. What i want to say that my real first time with a girl was, was with my girlfriend when i was 15 or 16. And those memories are great! We were a bit like Romeo and Julia and went to the same school. One day after lunch she told me we could skip school and go to her place cause her parents weren't home. That's when it happened, and it was very nice, though i really had to focus on what i was doing so i couldn't really enjoy it. After that we had a lot of sex - and not just in bed. Also in, for example, the dressing room. These days it feel like it was another life. Its seven years ago but it feels like forever.

MH: What makes sex special?
JA: the most important thing for me is that the girl enjoys it, i can enjoy myself without her as well. When someone is having sex, you shouldn't think too much of yourself. Men can come really quick, but in bed with a girl, i think they should put some more effort in it. What turns me on is the scent of a women, the mix of perfume and her own smell. Not sweaty!! no that's not hot at all. it can be sexy if she gets sweaty while doing something, but not cause she hasn't showered in ages.

MH: Is there something else you're less keen on when it comes to sex?
JA:Yes I don´t like it when someone gets hurt. Even though I have nothing against couples that want to practice something like that, but one has to know the limits to not go too far. I myself have not tried it but you should never say never. What I absolutely don´t like are "games" where shit and urine are involved. Our bass player however turns something like that on, and when we were in Japan in one of these sex shops he almost freaked out, because there is all this stuff. Us others can´t understand it, but he likes "golden showers"

MH: what for underwear do you think is sexy on women?
JA: Thongs are hot! but also the kinda hotpants Kylie Minogue wears in her video's. And i like it when girls or women throw their underwear on stage - a nice costume. In our earlier days as a band it happened a lot that really goodlooking girls in short skirts took off their underwear in front of the stage. it made me turn red every time. The first time some girls did that i actually lost my lines. The girls on the other hand had a lot of fun, to get my attention this way.

MH: What do you think about groupies?
JA: its cool that there are fans that follow you everywhere and wait at the gigplace from the morning till the doors open in the evening. This whole groupie-thing is just part of the Rock-n-Roll. I'm not really active in the groupie business, so that's why most are more after the other guys.

MH: Back to the underwear - what do you wear yourself?
JA: On stage i'd rather wear none at all. But if i have to i wear short, tight shorts. I don't wear polyester. and when its hot in summer, i don't wear underwear most of the time.

MH: Have you ever had sex with more than one women?
JA: Not yet, but i'm sure it's really nice! But i dont know, if i could manage, please more than one women. But it also means more work... (grins), cause i dont want to be a dissapointment... for anyone. When we were young and wild - i'm still young, but i mean younger and wilder - we once drank a lot of cheap alcohol, and we went with the 3 of us with one girl. We didnt sleep with her but we did touch her and she liked it a lot. But with more women... i've never done that.

MH: Can you imagine, you having sex with another man?
JA: Thats hard to say and depends on the mood. In this band we kiss on stage and in the bus (personal note: oh my god!!! in the bus?! niceeee!!), these guys are my best friends. But when i think of it: Why should i have sex with a man? I think, a women, that wants to try a lot, is better for me. (another personal note: bah..)     

 MH: What do you think about toys?
JA: It can be really great if it helps you to get an orgasm. Especially for women there are many nice things. But personally, I prefer the classic thing. Well at least I don’t want to have a dildo stick up my ass… (laughing)

MH: What do you think about porn movies?
JA: It can be quite entertaining but there are lots of miserable ones, sometimes it’s just really frustrating for me. But generally they’re quite okay. I can still remember finding my father’s porn magazines when I was a little boy. We were living on the second floor and I took all these magazines to the balcony, took them out of the plastic bag and threw them down to the yard. Now, the whole backyard was full of porn magazines and my mother asked if anyone knew to whom the hell these magazines belonged. I think she did know the answer, but didn’t want to admit that in front of me as a five- or six year old tot. [some note from my side: that story is hilarious…] Me and my friend were little devils and pinned some of the pictures on the bill-board with the want-ads in the grocery store. The next time I went there with my mother, she looked at the photos and I think they were quite familiar to her… back then, I was really young and didn’t think anything about it. To me, these were just pictures of naked people… which isn’t necessarily obscene.

MH: What’s your opinion on prostitutes?
JA: It’s completely okay that they’re doing their job and I don’t judge on anyone who occupies their services, it’s just that I don’t require to pay for sex and I don’t want that. Otherwise, I haven’t tried, some of the others in the band know better about that. Maybe it’s nice as a birthday present for example, but I’d probably be too shy to go there after all.

MH: Is there any wish you like to fulfil for yourself?
JA: It would be nice to fully satisfy a girl. That’s my dream.
